Podcasts:
The best interview I’ve ever done about Founders | Founders podcast
I always listen to the Founders podcast before considering reading a biography or autobiography. David Senra has read hundreds of these books and usually does 1 episode on each book or person he reads about. I really liked this episode because he zooms out and talks about the common traits that a lot of successful people have.
Arthur Brooks, How to be happy, reverse bucket lists, the four false idols | The Tim Ferris Show
Arthur Brooks is an HBS professor amongst other things, where he teaches about happiness. This episode goes over a bunch of different topics, with some practical tips for stuff anyone can start to implement into their lives.
Best thing I saw this month
since before I moved to CDMX, I’ve been obsessed with the pre-hispanic world of the area. Before having a population of 22M people, CDMX was called Tenochtitlan and was home to the Mexica’s (Aztec’s). I’ll never forget the first time I went to the museo nacional de antropología here in CDMX and saw a mini 3D construction of what Tenochtitlan looked like.
This 3D virtual reconstruction of what the Aztec capital looked like is awesome. It’s still hard to believe that this whole city was built on a lake, but this reconstruction brings it to life.
Some stuff I wrote this month
A lot of founders don’t have frameworks that help them assess their teams. A lot of investors recommend to “only keep A players” which sounds great in theory, but you’re not really taught what that means. This article breaks down what different types of “players” look like on your team, how to identify them, and how to manage them.
